The 4th Congress of the Georgian Hair Research Society (GHRS) and the 3rd Congress of the Georgian Nail Research Society (GNRS) – TrichoNail 2025
In June 2025, the "Pullman Axis Towers" hotel in Tbilisi will once again host the dermatological congress "TrichoNail 2025." This marks the fourth event for the Georgian Hair Research Society (GHRS) and the third joint gathering with the Georgian Nail Research Society (GNRS).
During the congress, leading Georgian and international dermatologists will present their reports. The event will cover the latest research, diagnostic methods, and modern treatment approaches related to hair and nail diseases, allowing participants to explore global trends in the field.

The 3rd Congress of the Georgian Hair Research Society (GHRS) and the 1st Congress of the Georgian Nail Research Society (GNRS) – TrichoNail 2023
On September 30, 2023, the "TrichoNail 2023" dermatological congress was held at the Holiday Inn in Tbilisi. This event marked the third congress of the Georgian Hair Research Society and the inaugural (first) congress of the Nail Research Society.
Leading Georgian and international dermatologists addressed the event, including guest speakers Adriana Rakowska and Yulia Ovcharenko. The congress focused on the latest approaches in the diagnosis and treatment of hair and nail disorders.

On February 9–10, 2019, the 2nd International Congress of the UHRS (Ukrainian Hair Research Society) was held in Kyiv, dedicated to the discussion of trichological issues.
The primary focus and objective of the congress was the wide-scale implementation of trichoscopy in diagnostic practice. The trichoscopy course was led by the world’s leading trichologists, founders of trichoscopic research, and experts, including the President of the "Georgian Hair Research Society," Professor Nino Lortkipanidze.
On April 24–27, 2019, the 11th World Congress for Hair Research (WCHR2019) was held in Sitges (Barcelona, Spain). Within the framework of the congress, one of the sessions was chaired by Nino Lortkipanidze, the President of the Georgian Hair Research Society.
On June 9–14, 2019, the 24th World Congress of Dermatology (WCD) was held in Milan, Italy. The congress addressed various current issues in the field of dermatology. The event was attended by experts and representatives from numerous countries, including Nino Lortkipanidze, the President of the Georgian Hair Research Society (GHRS).
2018
On March 15–17, the 1st World Congress of Trichoscopy was held in Warsaw, Poland. The event was organized by the pioneer of trichoscopic research, Professor Lidia Rudnicka.
Professor Nino Lortkipanidze, President of the Georgian Hair Research Society, was invited as a member of the Scientific Committee and a keynote speaker at this highly significant congress. Her presentation garnered substantial interest. Additionally, Nino Khutsishvili, a young member of the Georgian Hair Research Society, emerged as the winner of the congress competition: "Identifying Complex Trichoscopic Cases."
2017
In October 2017, the 10th World Congress for Hair Research (WCHR 2017) was held in Kyoto, Japan. The event was attended by the President of the Georgian Hair Research Society, Ms. Nino Lortkipanidze.
Various current issues in trichology, as well as the latest achievements and innovations in the field, were discussed during the sessions.
2016
In June 2016, Tbilisi, Georgia, hosted the 17th Congress of the European Hair Research Society (EHRS) and the 2nd International Congress of the Georgian Hair Research Society (GHRS). The primary objective of the event was to engage a new audience interested in hair research in Eastern Europe, successfully drawing the attention of numerous physicians and scientists across the region.
The conference featured a rich scientific program, encompassing both clinical and fundamental research. It included a pre-conference course for Russian-speaking participants and an introductory mini-course in English on the basics of hair research. Key topics discussed included hair loss disorders, androgenetic alopecia, alopecia areata, cicatricial alopecia, genetic hair diseases, and the latest research on the hair follicle. Special emphasis was placed on trichoscopy, which is gaining increasing popularity in clinical practice. Additionally, scalp psoriasis was addressed, and two sessions were dedicated to hair transplantation techniques and methods.
The congress included various social events, such as tours of Tbilisi and Mtskheta, and a gala dinner. The prestigious John Ebling Lecture, the highest award of the EHRS, was presented to Jerry Shapiro (USA). The meeting concluded with awards for the best oral and poster presentations and EHRS travel grants. The overall success of the conference highlighted the significant progress made in hair research and fostered fruitful collaboration between experts from Western and Eastern Europe.
2015
On November 18–21, 2015, the 9th World Congress for Hair Research was held in Miami, Florida. It was one of the most significant events of the year, not only for trichologists but for dermatovenerologists in general. During the congress, the President of the Georgian Hair Research Society, Nino Lortkipanidze, delivered a presentation about Georgia. At the conclusion of the event, a vote was held to select the host location for the upcoming congress, and it is a matter of great pride that Georgia was chosen as the winner.
2013
The Georgian Hair Research Society (GHRS) was established in 2013. The inaugural conference was held on April 5, 2013, at the Sheraton Metechi Palace Hotel.
More than 100 physicians registered for the event. Presentations were delivered by the President of the Georgian Hair Research Society, Nino Lortkipanidze, and Board Member Irma Buchukuri.
On May 4–6, 2013, the 7th World Congress for Hair Research was held in Edinburgh, Scotland. The congress was attended by more than 500 representatives from various countries worldwide, and experts discussed the latest scientific and clinical advancements in the field of trichology.
